How to submit online

Step 1

Find a blank piece of paper (preferably white, printer paper works great) and a writing utensil (pencil, pen, marker, etc.) and a comfortable place to write.

Step 2

Answer any or all of the above questions: What's your experience with mental illness? How do you find motiviation when you are down? And what advice would you give someone who is currently living with mental illness? There is no ideal length so write as much or as little as you see fit on the blank piece of paper. Make sure to write dark enough that it is legible.

Step 3

When you have completed your answer, please take a cell phone photo, camera photo, or scan at home or a local library. Make sure that the photo or scan is not blurry.

Step 4

Email the photo to or Direct Message us at @ColortheConversation on Instagram. Your writing will be posted anonymously unless you request to be tagged in the post.

Step 5

Your text submission will be transformed into a post on social media to continue coloring the conversation around mental illness. Thank you for taking the time to submit!
